Interviewing a prospective patient
Founded in 1989, the Colorado Prevention Center (CPC) is a not-for-profit medical research and disease prevention center. We are formally affiliated with the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, Denver Health, and National Jewish Medical and Research Center.

We have two primary goals:

  • To design and conduct clinical trials.
  • To translate research results into clinical practice for Colorado communities.

The CPC designs, conducts, and coordinates research studies for disease prevention and therapeutic intervention. CPC is internationally recognized for its expertise in clinical trials and has conducted complete clinical trial management for a variety of sponsors and investigators.

The CPC also recognizes the need to bridge the gap between clinical research and clinical practice, so our prevention programs focus on facilitating the application of our research findings to the day-to-day practice of medicine in Colorado.

As part of its disease prevention mission, CPC also reaches out to communities through screening and treatment programs and education, such as a two-year study evaluating the effectiveness of the influenza vaccine in a high risk, homeless population in Denver.

In the coming years, CPC will continue its efforts to improve health care practice patterns and behaviors.
