Mori J. Krantz, MD, FACC, is director of the Prevention Department and head of the ECG Core Lab at the Colorado Prevention Center (CPC).  

Dr. Krantz did his undergraduate training at Emory University and graduated from Temple University School of Medicine. He is board-certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular medicine and is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He completed residency and fellowship training at the University of Colorado. In addition to his roles at the CPC Dr. Krantz currently directs the cardiac risk reduction program at Denver Health and is an Associate Professor of Medicine, at the University of Colorado.

Under his leadership the Prevention Programs department has received nearly $10 million dollars in grant funding to help create a statewide cardiovascular risk reduction program in Colorado.  Dr. Krantz also serves as director of CPC’s ECG core laboratory, which is committed to cardiovascular safety in new drug development by providing high-quality interpretation and analysis of study-related ECG variables to the biopharmaceutical industry.

Dr. Krantz also serves on a US Department of Health and Human Services Expert Panel on cardiac safety within the field of drug induced arrhythmia. His commitment to safety and quality of care is further exemplified by his service on an AHA national steering committee, "Get With The Guidelines". This is the nation's largest inpatient quality improvement program, which has successfully translated into better care for both coronary artery disease and heart failure patients.  Dr. Krantz was also recently appointed as a special Government Employee to the FDA Cardio-Renal Advisory Committee.

Dr. Krantz is author or co-author of over 80 scholarly publications pertaining to the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases.
