In serving this mission, CPC:

• Designs and conducts clinical research studies in the broad area of prevention.



• Conducts community outreach programs in populations at risk for health promotion and disease prevention.



• Provides an interface between the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and the health care community of Colorado.



• Manages clinical trials to improve their conduction and ensure that the goals of clinical research are met through rigorous evaluation of the methods used.



• Provides limited medical treatment to patients in the context of clinical studies.



• Provides an education base for trainees in clinical trials and disease prevention.

The CPC focuses on these areas in order to promote the role of preventive medicine in controlling human disease.
