Six Elected to Colorado Prevention Center Foundation Board
Six people have been elected to the board of directors
of the Colorado Prevention Center Foundation, the
not-for-profit fundraising arm of The Colorado
Prevention Center.
They are Stephen A. Edmonds, Dean R. Ericson,
Susan W. Hiatt, PhD, Kip Hughes, Terry L.
Scholes and Nancy Taylor Farel.
Edmonds is recently retired as director of the
Office of the Chancellor at the University of
Denver. A DU graduate, he also serves on the
boards of Cleo Parker Robinson Dance, the Fine
Arts Foundation, Mental Health Association of
Colorado and the Central City Opera House Association Guild.
Ericson is senior vice president at Bortz
Media & Sports Group, a consulting firm specializing
in media, telecommunications, Internet and professional
sports companies. He also serves as Rocky Mountain
PBS vice chairman of the board of trustees and
is a member of the board of trustees of the
International Skiing History Association.
Dr. Hiatt is a developmental psychologist
specializing in the prevention and treatment
of child abuse and neglect. She is active in
several community activities, including the
Central City Opera and is the president of the
Central City Opera House Association Guild.
Hughes is an independent consultant, of
counsel at JohnstonWells Public Relations.
She is a trustee of the Women’s Foundation of
Colorado and has been active with numerous
community organizations, including Girl Scouts
Mile Hi Council, Planned Parenthood of the
Rocky Mountains, Alliance of Professional Women,
Artreach and the School House Project.
Scholes is owner of Terry Scholes Insurance
Agency. He serves on the board of directors
of The Colorado Prevention Center, as well
as the boards of Central City Opera and the
Denver Health Foundation.
Farel is owner of Nancy Taylor Farel &
Associates, a firm specializing in personal
color and image consulting. She is an executive
member of Fashion Group International, Inc., and
has served as a mentor to The Art Institute of
Colorado and to Colorado State University degree
candidates in the fashion field.
